By accessing or using the Ruune device and associated services (collectively, the "Services") provided by Internet of Humans, Inc. ("IoH," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

2. Description of Services

Ruune is an AI-powered recording device that captures conversations and transforms them into structured, searchable memory. Our Services include the Ruune hardware device, mobile application, cloud processing, and related features including transcription, summarization, and natural language search.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of our Services, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update your account information as needed
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Recording Consent and Legal Compliance

This is important: Recording laws vary significantly by jurisdiction. Some locations require consent from all parties before recording a conversation ("all-party consent"), while others only require consent from one party ("one-party consent").

You are solely responsible for:

  • Understanding and complying with all applicable recording consent laws in your jurisdiction
  • Obtaining any required consent before recording conversations
  • Using Ruune only in lawful ways
  • Any legal consequences arising from your recordings

IoH does not provide legal advice. We strongly recommend consulting with a legal professional if you have questions about recording laws in your area.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use our Services to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Record conversations without required consent
  • Infringe on the rights of others, including privacy rights
  • Harass, threaten, or harm any person
  • Distribute malware or engage in any malicious activities
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services
  • Use the Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Services, including all software, hardware designs, trademarks, and content created by IoH, are owned by IoH and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of your recordings, transcripts, and other content you create using our Services. By using our Services, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely to provide the Services to you.

7. Subscription and Payment

Certain features of our Services may require a paid subscription. If you purchase a subscription:

  • You agree to pay all applicable fees
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through the app
  • Refunds are provided in accordance with our refund policy
  • We may change pricing with reasonable notice

8. Hardware Warranty

The Ruune device is covered by a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accidents, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear. See our warranty documentation for complete details.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy of transcriptions or AI-generated content

AI-generated transcriptions and summaries may contain errors. You should review important content for accuracy.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IOH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless IoH and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease, and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property matters.

15. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and IoH regarding the Services.
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights freely.
